Morning Gallops: Inside Our Newmarket Routine

30 July 2024 Rebecca Hegarty

The alarm goes off before dawn, but there is nowhere else we would rather be. Watching the string work on Newmarket Heath as the sun comes up is one of the great privileges of this industry.

Every piece of work is recorded and analysed. Heart-rate data, sectional times and recovery rates all feed into our picture of each horse, helping us and the trainers make better decisions about targets and timing.

It is this marriage of old-fashioned horsemanship and modern sports science that sits at the heart of everything we do at Global Equine Group.
